HOW IT WORKS

"I'm here to help you define your sound, one song at a time.

I know the studio can seem like a daunting place, but my job is to make the music production process a creative and rewarding experience. I work with artists at all stages of their careers. My role is to shine the best light on what you do, by capturing little moments that add up to an overall beautiful finished product. I will walk you through the entire recording process from start to finish.

STEP 1

SEND ME A ROUGH DEMO OF YOUR SONG.

When you book a session with me, you’ll either e-mail me a digital file/MP3 of your song(s) or you can just show up with lyrics and a melody. We’ll talk about production ideas and how you envision your project.

Next, we’ll record a “scratch” guitar and vocal to a click track to establish the tempo, best key, and overall vibe of the song.

INSTRUMENT TRACKING PROCESS

Whatever the song calls for, we make it happen. It's always a collaborative effort discussing what's best for your song and arrangement.

I play the following instruments:

Drums & Percussion
Bass
Acoustic guitar
Electric guitar
Drum and Synth Programming

I always start with drums or acoustic guitar, sometimes piano, and then we build on top of that foundation.

Along the way, I’ll present to you different production ideas for each instrument that will shape the sound of your song.

Sometimes, a song will call for a specific instrument or flavor. I have access to some of Nashville’s top session players. The musician network is endless. This includes: string arrangements, pedal steel, fiddle, piano, bass, keys, guitar, etc.

STEP 3

VOCALS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF ANY SONG. I WORK HARD, UNTIL THEY'RE RIGHT .

At this stage, the music track is mostly built. Now it's time for your vocal.

Vocal producing, coaching, and getting the best vocal performance out of my artists is my specialty. I will work with you until your vocal is spot on.

I don't rush my artists in the studio. We work until it's right.

I have built a streamlined vocal comping process where I record multiple takes and compile them into "the perfect take." I will edit, comp, and tune your vocals so they sound like you and as competitive as anything out there!

STEP 4

MIXING AND MASTERING

Without getting too technical, when I mix and master your songs, I’m going to make them sound EMOTIONAL, BIG, POWERFUL, AND COMPETITIVE.

I want your audience to FEEL SOMETHING when they hear your music. And I want them to hit replay over and over.

Once the mix is done, I will email you an mp3. We will recall and make revisions until you're happy. I want to make something we're all proud of! Let's take the time to get it fully polished. When you approve the mix, that's when I send final masters, instrumental versions, and session stems. I don't own or keep the rights to your masters. The masters are yours and you hold all rights to your song(s).
